The Welding & Joining Technician Intern supports the manufacturing team by assisting with basic welding, joining, and fabrication tasks while learning proper techniques, safety standards, and production processes. This is a hands-on, entry-level position ideal for students or recent graduates interested in welding, metal fabrication, or manufacturing trades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced technicians and engineers with daily production tasks.
  • Perform basic welding/joining operations under supervision. 
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures.  
  • Maintain and clean and organized work area. 
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment safely.
  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements and company policies. 
  • Support continuous improvement and learning initiatives.

Hourly Starting Range

  • Entry-Level: $19/hour
  • Mid-Career: $20/hour
  • Senior-Level: $21/hour

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent (or currently enrolled in a technical, trade, or manufacturing program)
  • No degree required; technical training or proven field experience strongly preferred. 

Experience

  • Prior experience in industrial machinery, automation, or press systems is highly valued. 
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions with the ability to communicate findings to team members and supervisors
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
