DESCRIPTION:

This placement offers a student the opportunity to gain practical experience as a Scientific Officer. The role supports the company’s mission to ensure the safe use and sustainability of chemicals and products across a wide range of industries worldwide.

·       an opportunity for a student to develop the skills and knowledge needed to navigate this evolving regulatory landscape

·       working on meaningful projects that improve chemical safety and environmental performance.

The Scientific Officer (Intern) will work alongside experts to support research, data analysis, and compliance-related activities. We combine scientific research, data management, and regulatory interpretation, offering a well-rounded introduction to professional practice within the chemical and life science industries.


REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree with no prior experience, with the opportunity for a one year placement in industry
• Preferred Fields of Study: Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Engineering)
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions
• Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs
• Knowledge in industrial hygiene monitoring, hazardous materials management, and emergency response
• Ability to analyze EHS data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to work with all levels of the organization
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Additional language skills may be valued
• Must be able to conduct facility inspections and respond to emergencies, including some physical activity
