As the first U.S. publisher dedicated to art and illustrated books—and an industry leader in visual and narrative publishing—ABRAMS is seeking an Adult Integrated Marketing Intern to join our Marketing team as part of our Summer 2026 Internship Program commencing on June 2, 2026.


Over the course of this immersive, unpaid program (offered for academic credit only), interns will gain meaningful insight into the world of book publishing while contributing to real projects that drive our business forward. You’ll learn alongside experienced professionals, develop practical skills in your area of interest, and participate in opportunities designed to broaden your understanding of the publishing industry. Our goal is to help prepare the next generation of publishing talent while fostering a passion for books, art, and culture.


The Adult Integrated Marketing team leads the strategy for marketing campaigns across Abrams’ adult fiction and nonfiction lists, with additional oversight of advertising, retail marketing, and promotional efforts focused on ROI analysis. The team collaborates closely with all marketing divisions to ensure campaigns are coordinated, targeted, and ultimately sales-driving. As the Adult Integrated Marketing Intern, you will support a wide range of projects across these areas and contribute both creatively and administratively to campaign development and execution. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the field of Marketing across adult book publishing while learning the strategy behind building an innovative sales-driving campaign. 

 

What you’d be doing:

  • Copywriting for marketing materials
  • Participating in team brainstorms
  • Conducting audience and campaign research
  • Executing mailings and campaign-related shipments
  • Updating and maintaining departmental organizational documents
  • Assisting in evaluating ROI for marketing campaigns, with a focus on advertising
  • Receiving training on maximizing engagement to drive conversion
  • Learning and networking with ABRAMS employees, publishing professionals, and fellow interns during a summer internship experience for academic credit
  • Gaining hands-on exposure to the publishing industry, from concept to finished product
  • Supporting research, project work, and day-to-day tasks within your assigned department
  • Contributing ideas and providing creative input on department projects
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and learning about various areas of the publishing business
  • Participating in workshops and discussions designed to deepen your understanding of publishing trends and processes
  • Receiving coaching, mentorship, and feedback from experienced ABRAMS professionals


We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Proficiency in Mac OS and MS Office Suite, with strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Working knowledge of Abode Acrobat Pro 


Internship Details:

  • Compensation: For credit only; must be enrolled in a college program offering internship credit.
  • Location: New York, NY, and follows a hybrid schedule, working 20-30 hours per week.
  • Duration: June 2, 2026 - August 14, 2026
