Who we’re looking for

We have identified the need to standardize key documentation, locate opportunities for efficiency, reduce redundancies and detect rework.  For this, we are looking for a Summer Intern that will be focused on documenting and mapping operational processes and drafting decision trees.

What you’ll be doing

The Summer Internship Program is designed to be an experience that immerses participants in hands-on work, fosters professional development, and cultivates community involvement.

Through the internship program, you will obtain:

  • An opportunity to work closely with leaders from across Toyota to better understand the organization and what has led Toyota become the #1 automaker in the world.
  • An introduction to a captive finance company and its service operations function.
  • The ability to work with different teams to understand loan origination and servicing.
  • Knowledge of the different roles and responsibilities the Service Operations team performs.
  • The opportunity to acquire skills needed to achieve professional goals and aspirations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Compile and analyze current Service Operations SOPs and documentation.  Meet with SME’s to capture relevant data that is not documented.  Walkthrough key processes and demos.
  • Map current operational processes and validate results with processes owners.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, redundancies, rework, etc.
  • Prepare and present process maps, flowcharts, swim lanes, decision trees and general findings to the Service Operations Leadership Team during the project lifecycle.
  • Present final results to the Managing Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering or Operations Management from an accredited college or university.
  • Undergraduate students coursing junior year or above. Graduate students can participate on freshman year.
  • Available to start Summer 2026.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Total quality management, process improvements, efficiency courses, a plus.
  • Fully bilingual; oral and written skills.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficiency in Lucid Chart.
  • Analytical skills to think through processes and reach conclusions based on data and information.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
