JOB DESCRIPTION             

This position is located in and will be reporting out of Columbus, OH. 

Position Title:    Human Resources Intern

Reports To:    Director HR- Payroll & Compliance/AVP HR-Recruiting & Engagement

FLSA Status:        Non-Exempt

Basic Functions:    Support the Human Resources team by assisting with daily operations across recruitment, HR administration, training, compliance and benefits. Participate in team meetings, engage in special projects and learn how HR functions within the organization.  

Essential Functions:

1.    Assist with special projects related to current HR goals and initiatives, i.e. intern program checkpoints, intern satisfaction survey, exit interview revisions, LinkedIn Learning path development, LinkedIn recruiting and metrics, Employee onboarding, and wellness initiatives. 

2.    Assist with auditing and updating job descriptions. 

3.    Assist with compensation research and salary surveys. 

4.    Provide recruiting support to the HR team with responsibilities focusing on job postings, review of resumes, scheduling interviews, checking references.  

5.    Exposure to TTI Success Insights’ DISC and 12 Driving Forces assessment tools for behavioral styles and motivators. 

6.    Participate with AMP’s Impact Team focusing on workforce engagement and activities.  Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment.  

7.    Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

1.    Current college student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.

2.    Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and management.

3.    High attention to detail for handling data entry and documentation.

4.    Must be able to handle sensitive and personal employee information with discretion.

5.    Must have working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). 

6.    Interest in learning about multiple HR disciplines
