OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Interns are an integral part at Charlotte Motor Speedway, bringing fresh perspectives, skills, and ideas to the table. In addition to assisting in administrative and office duties, candidates will take ownership of various aspects of events that take place at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This includes, but is not limited to the planning, set-up, execution, and tear-down of events. Additional non-event duties may include assisting other departments with promotional appearances, covering telephones, data entry, and staffing guest services/hospitality positions for events. Interns are the future of racing and events, and are a valued addition to Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The Event Department offers interns practical experience in the production, promotion and execution of national, regional and grassroots events. Event interns should be quick-learning and self-starting candidates who desire to gain an extensive working knowledge of NASCAR, short-track, drag racing, and special events. 

Internships Term- Some flexibility available on start/end dates depending on student and school program requirements. 

Qualifications: 
  • Ideal candidates must be a team player, customer-friendly, organized, outgoing, professional and able to deal effectively with frequent interruptions in a demanding environment. 
  • Due to the dynamic nature of the business, multi-tasking skills and the ability to think on the fly are a must. 
  • Excellent computer and customer relation skills are a must. 
  • Knowledge of NASCAR, Dirt Track, and Drag Racing industry is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Interns must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week plus all events held during the semester including necessary nights and weekends. 
  • Interns will work an average of 30 hours per week, with 40 hours and some overtime during events
