Position Summary:
The successful intern will provide scientific support to the Neurology group, working on validation of novel targets and assay development for neurodegeneration.
Responsibilities (may include):
· Train and perform sample preparation, sample weighing and handling, pipetting, calculations, and assay reagent preparation.
· Train and assist with aseptic culture of mammalian cells including sub-cultivation, cell counting, and calculation of seeding densities.
· Train and assist with generation and characterization of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), including molecular biology and microscopy analyses.
· Train and assist with in vitro assays for relevant endpoints (e.g., neuronal activity, intracellular trafficking and protein turnover assays).
· Prepare excel sheets for data analysis and plot results
· Document daily lab work in accordance with SOPs and company policies
· Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a BS or MS Degree program
- Basic understanding of biology/neurobiology and training on bench such as pipetting and concentration calculation/solution preparation.
