About the Role

SUMMARY

Karman Space & Defense is seeking qualified candidates for engineering internships and intern-to-hire positions. We have immediate openings across all functional areas. Our interns work hands-on with a multi-disciplinary engineering team in the development of aerospace-related mechanical and pyrotechnic systems. A major focus of our internships is development of test hardware and prototype testing for technology maturation.

EDUCATION

  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent in progress, Sophomore, Junior or Senior year academic status preferred

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support one or more of the following improvement projects:

  • Conduct setup time studies and support standardization efforts at CNC work centers to improve throughput and reduce setup times
  • Support early-piece serialization and traceability process improvements
  • Review and improve work instructions, setup sheets, and in-process documentation to reduce nonconformances and strengthen AS9100 compliance
  • Assistwith inspection room 5S and visual management improvements
  • Support development offixture, tooling, and tool library standards
  • Assist with CAM/Vericutvalidation activities as assigned
