About the Role

Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

As a Technical Project Management Intern within the TT/S (Truck Technology / Software) Project Management Office (PMO), you’ll help drive DTNA's projects forward. You’ll bring your experience, creativity, and enthusiasm to a team that works cross-functionally—who collaborate with design, testing, integration, and other regional teams to deliver projects and support strategic product development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure across projects, providing insight into how innovative projects are conceived, developed, and brought to market. You’ll see & be part of the work it takes to shape products that exceed customer expectations and contribute to Daimler Truck’s reputation for excellence. Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, such as process optimization and efficiency enhancements, and lead projects to implement solutions.

  • Support project managers in the regional implementation of the Software (SW) and Electronics Development and Release Management processes in projects.

  • Potentially design visual aids and graphics to represent project data and progress/develop interactive visualizations to communicate complex information effectively.

  • Potentially develop AI agents or automations to gather, prioritize & summarize project status information from various sources to aid in various reporting & communication venues.

  • Potentially assist in coordination and facilitation of project-related meetings. Publish and manage project meeting minutes and action items and drive closure on topics.

    Potentially assist in publication of a monthly department newsletter.

  • Potentially create detailed process playbooks outlining step-by-step procedures, if needed.

  • Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June) 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required

  • Solid organizational & time management skills are required

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment is required

  • Customer orientated with the drive to develop customer-focused solutions is required

  • Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change is required

  • Creative mindset preferred

  • Basic understanding of Lean System & Continuous Improvement Principles (including process modifications, improvements, and waste elimination methodology) preferred

  • Experience with AI usage, including Agent creation preferred

  • Experience with automation of data analysis & reporting preferred

  • Basic understanding of Project Management fundamentals preferred

  • Basic understanding of Software Development Process (V-model) preferred

  • Basic understanding of networking or vehicle electrical/electronic system preferred
