General Description:
The Accounting Intern provides financial, administrative, and clerical support to the accounting team while gaining hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting processes. This role is designed for a student currently pursuing an accounting or related degree and offers practical exposure to real-world accounting operations under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Intern will:
- Assist with matching receipts to purchase orders and entering quantity variances into the ERP system (NetSuite)
- Support the matching of purchase orders to invoices and help enter invoices into NetSuite
- Assist with coding expenses to appropriate accounts and cost centers by reviewing invoices and expense reports
- Help collect and match receipts to payment card transactions
- Support the accounts payable process, including preparing documentation and assisting with resolving discrepancies
- Assist with billing processes for both direct and wholesale customers
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information
- Perform other accounting-related administrative tasks as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
- Completed or currently enrolled in introductory accounting coursework
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (debits and credits)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic office software
Qualifications:
