About the Role

We are seeking a Project Management Intern to support our active design and construction projects in the renewable energy space. The role is ideal for someone who wants experience in developing green field industrial projects within the renewable energy development space. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Construction Projects, you’ll be working alongside seasoned project managers, site managers, cross-functional internal teams, and external partners including clients, general contractors, designers, and suppliers.

You will have the opportunity to visit active PurposeEnery factories in Vermont and an active construction project in Ohio. The intern will have the opportunity to attend design-build kick-off meetings for new projects beginning in Missouri, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

What You'll Do:

  • Support construction, development, engineering, and procurement teams across active greenfield projects.

  • Participate in internal and external project meetings including capturing notes and follow up on actionable items.

  • Track project documents (drawings, RFIs, submittals) using ProCore and the PurposeEnergy PM Toolbox.

  • Maintain action registers, schedules, budgets, and change order logs.

  • Support contract management, equipment procurement tracking, and site coordination.

  • Attend site walks to observe construction progress, safety practices, and quality checks.

  • Lead one or two special initiatives end-to-end: build the plan, run weekly meetings, manage the budget and schedule, and hand off to the project sponsor.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Comfortable working on project sites and in an office setting

  • Proactive, eager to learn, and willing to take initiative

  • Basic proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and project management tools (training provided)

Physical Requirements

  • You will be required to support work at facilities, both indoors and outdoors. You will be required to perform work standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., working at heights, on the ground, on ladders, on tanks, and in pits.

Location & Travel

  • Based in our Headquarters in Salem, NH (within 1 minute of I-93) with possible travel to Vermont, Ohio, or other development sites across the country.

Compensation

  • $20-22/ hr. depending on relevant experience

  • Reimbursement for mileage, travel expenses, meals and reasonable work-related expenses
