Walters Wholesale Electric Company, an affiliate of USESI, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HR Intern to join our team. This position will be located in our Brea, CA location.
Hours: Part-Time; In-Person

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support HR compliance efforts by tracking required trainings, monitoring completion rates, and following up with employees and managers to ensure adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Partner with HR to identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows, and support automation initiatives, including maintaining and updating tracking tools (e.g., Microsoft Lists, Excel, or similar systems).
  • Help audit HR records and files (I-9s, employee documentation, training records) to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining HR process documentation, SOPs, and training materials to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Support translation or adaptation of training and compliance materials to improve accessibility across the workforce.
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the HR team, with an emphasis on improving efficiency and organization of HR operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly when working with compliance-related documentation and confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, or other workflow automation tools is strongly preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with an interest in process improvement, systems, and workflow efficiency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in HR compliance, employment laws, and process optimization.
  • Professional demeanor with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with data tracking, reporting, or digital filing systems is strongly preferred.
  • Multilingual abilities or experience with translation tools is strongly preferred.
