About the Role
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Space Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis Intern in Huntsville, AL for summer 2026.
We are seeking a Space Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Intern to support the development of space system models, mission simulations, and analytical tools for DoD and IC programs. Interns will work with senior engineers to learn modern M&S techniques, space environments, and mission scenario evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Support development of space system models, including orbital mechanics and mission geometry.
- Assist in running simulations using tools such as MATLAB, or AFSIM.
- Help analyze mission scenarios and extract performance metrics.
- Prepare data, plots, and visualizations for senior engineers.
- Document modeling assumptions, results, and analytical findings.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Basic understanding of orbital mechanics or space systems concepts.
- Exposure to MATLAB, Python, C++
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a technical environment.
Desired Skills
- Coursework in orbital mechanics or astrodynamics.
- Exposure to simulation tools (STK, MATLAB, Python).
- Interest in space mission analysis and space operations.
Clearance
- Ability to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
