Based at the HVDC Centre of Excellence in Stafford, UK, the role gives an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to innovate, expand their technical skills and develop personally within an internationally recognised company in the renewables and grid sectors. The successful candidate will be part of a cohort of interns working within a 12-month development plan that allows them to stretch outside of their core academic background that prepares them for successful careers.

Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical design of HVDC converters using CAD

  • Simulation and analysis of mechanical loading

  • Technical reviews of new technologies

  • Create design documentation such as specifications, reports and notes

  • Collaborate with other disciplines for product development and project delivery

The Person:

The successful candidate will ideally have completed 2 years of degree level study in a related field such as Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and be predicted to obtain at least a 2:1 at bachelor’s level; or equivalent knowledge or experience.

Needs to be eligible to work in the UK.
