POSITION SUMMARY:

The Graphic Design Intern will support the creation of engaging visual content across digital, presentation, and print channels. This internship is a hands-on opportunity for a creative, curious, and detail-oriented student to apply design skills in a real-world, corporate environment. The intern will work closely with the Communications and Marketing teams to help bring ideas to life—translating concepts into clear, visually compelling designs that support internal communications, brand storytelling, and business initiatives. This role offers meaningful exposure to professional design workflows and the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects while building a strong portfolio.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Support the creation of visual content for digital and print materials, including presentations, social media graphics, internal communications, marketing collateral, and event materials.
  • Assist with layout, typography, and basic design production using established brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and other internal stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.
  • Make revisions based on feedback from designers and business partners.
  • Help maintain and organize design files and brand assets.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and projects from concept through execution.

Education/Experience/Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop; Figma or Canva a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback
  • A portfolio or samples of design work (academic or personal projects welcome)
  • Experience designing PowerPoint, social media, or other digital platforms, preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment for extended periods, including sitting at a desk and using a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents and office equipment.
  • Visual acuity to review detailed reports, compliance documentation, and sustainability data on screens and in print.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and moving between office areas and meeting rooms.
  • Ability to travel to company facilities – up to 10%, including manufacturing plants, for audits, inspections, and leadership meetings (may involve walking on uneven surfaces and climbing stairs).
  • Capacity to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during site visits, such as safety glasses, hard hats, and steel-toe shoes.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs during on-site activities.
  • Adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and during virtual meetings.

 

  The hourly rate for this internship position is $20 per hour.
