How You’ll Make an Impact
The Engineering Intern will be asked to perform a variety of entry level technical duties as needed to assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of engineering/quality documents, and create ad hoc reports.  The candidate will utilize their field of study (chemical, industrial, electrical, mechanical, civil) degree paths to bring critical-thinking skills into the role and to gain hands-on experience in the assigned internship.   The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Plant Manager, Quality Supervisor, Operations Manager, and Plant Engineer.

 
How You Make an Impact 

•    Optimization of the current processes assigned by the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Engineer.
•    Work on enhancing operational equipment efficiency (OEE)
•    Create or modify standard operating procedures (SOP's)
•    Perform line and process audits utilizing the plants Quality Management System (QMS)
•    Assist in writing authorization for expenditures (AFE's)
•    Engage in time motion studies
•    Participate in various assigned facility meetings, teams, and initiatives that support the operations and quality systems.
•    Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.


What You’ll Need

•    High school diploma or equivalent required; applicant must be a student attending classes at a university/college
•    Must have strong attention to detail and excellent math skills.  
•    Must be able to multi-task and willing to work in a very fast paced environment
•    Excellent computer skills. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.). 
•    Lean Tools
•    Ability to compile and record data accurately.  
•    Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and critical thinking skills.
•    Excellent communication skills (Phone, IM, Email, in person)
•    Organization skills
•    Proactively identifies improvements to processes, systems, and documentation.
•    Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Laboratory environment.  Some light lifting <35lbs. required
•    Environment: Temperature controlled indoors in mostly office area but also varies in manufacturing portion of facility.
•    Travel Requirements: None
