Internship Description:

The Education Content & Programs Intern will contribute to the development of renewables-focused educational content and programming across multiple departments. They will play a key role in ensuring we deliver high-quality education and engagement at SEIA’s Premier Events and with our educational partners, including RE+ Events. The role of this position is to work alongside our Content & Programs team to push SEIA’s strategic vision for the Solar+ Decade forward through cutting-edge events and other industry education opportunities.

Reporting primarily to SEIA’s Content & Programs Coordinator, the Education Content & Programs Intern will work closely with various SEIA departments to prepare event content and assist in the coordination of industry representatives, subject matter experts, community stakeholders, and political figures as they speak on our various education platforms. The Education Content & Programs Intern will assist with education opportunities, policy research, session writing, and notetaking for a variety of forums including RE+ Events, SEIA’s Finance, Tax, and Buyers Seminar, online education programming, workshops, and other projects as they arise. They will also support the Content & Programs team in speaker management – including activities such as sending invitations, scheduling planning calls, updating the website and promotional materials, and providing instructions. Additionally, the intern will participate in various SEIA committees to gain industry knowledge and identify substantive priorities and education opportunities. This position provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to explore potential career pathways in the renewable energy industry and to make meaningful connections with a network of professionals interested in their growth.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in renewable energy or environmental policy. Top candidates will have some experience in one or more of the following areas: event implementation, marketing, policy writing, and general research skills.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Conduct background research on solar and storage topics relevant to the industry
  • Monitor industry news and policy developments
  • Track and organize speaker communications
  • Additional responsibilities (if needed)
  • Assist in speaker identification and outreach
  • Provide general administrative and project management support for variety of educational formats
  • Collaborate with and communicate updates on events with other internal teams
  • Support the drafting and development of conference sessions

Compensation:

Working Conditions

  • This position is 20/week
  • This internship is based in the Washington, DC office
  • Interns MUST be in the office on designated team days (3 days a week) and specifically on Wednesdays for cohort touch base.
