About the Role

Northeast Bank is a full-service community bank and a national commercial real estate lender with offices in Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut and California. POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Security Intern will be responsible for supporting ongoing IT projects. This position will support the IT group, as well as end projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist with keeping systems secure by helping with vulnerability scanning and reporting.
  • Support internal automation and scripting projects for security relating tooling.
  • Contribute to ongoing documentation and diagram improvements.
  • Own a standalone project

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, standardized hardware, and IT terminology
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Able to receive instruction and execute in a group environment, independently, and with supervision
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanners, SIEM tools, or basic log analysis.
  • Follow all information security guidelines and practices
  • Complete all required trainings that are assigned
  • Studying Cybersecurity, IT, Networking or Computer Science

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to work in a seated environment for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work remotely, if required
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Reliable transportation, some travel may be required
