Progress creates the following career opportunity in Cambridge, ON.

SUMMER - DRAFTER/DETAILER

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the successful candidate will be involved with updating standard drawings and detailed shop drawings for civil engineering projects for soil-metal and HDPE product lines used in drainage infrastructure as well as provide technical support to other members of the drafting team.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a Civil Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma program or equivalent. Combinations of education such as an Architecture Program and experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office 
  • Strong technical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision, as well as within a team environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Above average mathematical skills and strong resourceful problem-solving skills
  • Experience and knowledge in soil-metal structures such as structural plate, corrugated steel pipe, gravity retaining walls, tunnel liners and related infrastructure products will be considered an asset.
  • Bilingual in French is considered an asset 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, continually adapt to change and work under tight deadlines.
