About the Role

The Sonde Lab Technician Intern is responsible for gaining exposure to career opportunities within the oil and gas technology industry. This person discovers SLB's role in the industry and the lifestyle associated with the job.

Responsibilities:

Candidate’s duties may include the following:

  • Support with non-invasive maintenance related to final preparation of Sonde Equipment
  • Assist in final function testing such as calibration, inspection, certification or verification, which may include Operational Combination Check, pressure test, measurement calibration, HHP test, Systems Integration Test (SIT).
  • Support equipment incident investigations, including failure reproduction with the support of the Remote Operations Center as required.
  • Support with execution of work orders, WOs as assigned through the Computerized Maintenance Management System for the Division, ensuring compliance with standard work and WO data accuracy and the equipment demand orders (EDO).
  • Support with preparation and organize required documentation related to such activities as calibrations, function tests, material certifications, inspections and, if necessary, third-party quality control and inspections for hand off to PSD.
  •  Support to prepare equipment and associated critical spares for shipment and staging to a pre-determined location or loading zone.
  • Support to load equipment onto trucks in the absence of base or operational planning support, or the Maintenance Associate.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement work ethic and participate in initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity in equipment readiness, CoSD, and asset utilization through maintenance processes.
  • Comply with Division Technology Lifecycle Management standards and the Competency Management System.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • Electrical aptitude required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Good problem-solving abilities, proactive, fast learner, good organizational and time management skills, positive attitude
