As an Operations Support & Systems Intern (Data Governance), you’ll gain foundational exposure to data governance principles and understand how quality, consistency, and transparency of data support effective decision‑making and regulatory compliance in a banking environment. This role offers hands-on experience working with critical data elements across regions, while developing practical analytical and stakeholder coordination skills.

You’re comfortable working with structured data, documentation, and spreadsheets, and enjoy making information clearer and more consistent. You communicate clearly with stakeholders, are proactive in following up on inputs, and take ownership of ensuring accuracy and completeness in your work.

What you do

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Data Dictionary Management: support the maintenance, clean-up, and standardisation of the Global Wholesale Banking Data Dictionary, including Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
  • CDE Consolidation & Coordination: assist in improving efficiency by consolidating CDE information across GWB Singapore and overseas branches
  • Stakeholder Engagement: support the solicitation, tracking, and consolidation of stakeholder feedback on proposed data changes prior to implementation
  • Documentation & Tracking: maintain proper documentation, change logs, and records to ensure transparency, traceability, and auditability
  • Process Support: contribute to initiatives that enhance data governance processes and controls

Who you work with

You’ll be part of the Operations Support & Systems team within Global Corporate Banking, working closely with stakeholders across Singapore and overseas branches. The team partners with business, operations, and risk functions to strengthen data governance, consistency, and accountability across the Global Wholesale Banking Division.

Who you are

  • An Undergraduate or Postgraduate student with an interest in data, governance, operations, or banking

  • Analytical and highly attentive to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with structured datasets

  • Organised, methodical, and able to manage documentation and follow-ups effectively

  • Familiar with SharePoint or similar collaboration tools (an advantage)

  • A clear communicator who works well with others

  • Foundational understanding of data governance principles in a banking environment

  • Exposure to Data Dictionaries and Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and their role in data quality and consistency
