Job Description:

 

Procurement and Contracting Services is looking for summer Interns.  This is a temporary position from May 1, 2026, to

August 31, 2026.

 

The summer intern position is open to current high school and college students and recent college graduates (graduation date spring semester 2026) who are interested in learning about state government administration and records management practices and procedures, while gaining valuable experience working for the State of Texas. This position provides support to various teams in the Procurement and Contracting Services (PCS) division. The summer intern position may complete assignments including, but not limited to, reviewing procurement files for completeness, researching and verifying contract-related data in various databases, drafting reports and documents, and entering data into Microsoft Excel. Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Reviews procurement files for accuracy and completeness.

Enters data into an automated system.

Maintains confidential records, files, and/or logs.

Communicates on a basic level with others to provide, exchange, or verify information.

May assist in preparing reports and/or other communications.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic knowledge of office procedures.
