Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in clinical research, maintain accurate records, and document patient interactions.
  • Communicate with healthcare personnel and exhibit service excellence.
  • Perform various respiratory therapies, including chest physiotherapy, flutter valve, PEP, incentive spirometry, humidification, nebulization, BiPAP/CPAP, IPPB, aerosolized drugs, and pulmonary function testing.
  • Assist in transporting patients requiring respiratory support and ensure proper respiratory equipment management.
  • Administer therapeutic gases, replace and monitor compressed gas cylinders, and perform arterial punctures with aseptic technique.
  • Provide, maintain, calibrate, and repair respiratory equipment.
  • Conduct resting, titration, exercise, and nocturnal oximetry studies.
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including airway management, ventilatory support, and external cardiac massage.
  • Attend meetings, complete competencies, and stay updated on hospital policies and respiratory care.
  • Ensure patient charges are entered daily.


  • Currently enrolled in a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care.
  • The intern must have completed one semester of clinical rotations at a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Clearances with renewal:
    • 31, 33, 34, & 73
