About the Role

Job Title: Summer Intern –  Human Resources (Part-Time)

Duration: 6/22/2026 – 8/13/2026 (8 weeks – maximum of 29 hrs. per week)


CJ America’s HQ Office (Los Angeles) is currently recruiting college students for the 2026 Summer Internship programs. 

This is a part-time paid internship. The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter who is interested in hands-on experience in the areas of developing a strategic mindset through CJ’s core global business pillars including Food/Food Services, Biotech, Logistics, Retail and Entertainment sectors, while adhering to CJ’s “HAGOJABI” talent philosophy and core values: TALENT (Exceptional Talent & Exceptional Culture), ONLYONE (First, Best & Different), and SHARED GROWTH (Building Ecosystems and Shared Value). 


Job Overview: 

As our Summer Intern (Human Resources), you will play a vital role in supporting our HR operations during an intensive 8-week program. This entry-level position offers a hands-on introduction to the HR lifecycle—from recruitment & candidate experience to compliance research and employee engagement. You will collaborate directly with senior-level HR professionals to ensure our regional policies remain industry-leading and our workplace culture continues to thrive. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to build a foundation in HR operations, market research, and HR compliance. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition Support: Assist Talent Acquisition professionals in screening applications based on the required skills and qualifications, and coordinate interview-related activities (e.g., panel interview packages, room reservation, visitor registration, etc.) and manage the "Candidate Experience" journey
  • Compliance & Policy Visualization: Research and summarize mandatory state-specific laws (including Paid Family Leave and Sick Time) for NY, MA, NJ, and IL to ensure our onboarding materials are current and compliant for each state
  • Strategic Market Research: Conduct a competitive analysis on HR market trends—such as hybrid work models, mental health benefits, and Gen-Z retention strategies—and present findings to the HR Team
  • Employee Engagement: Provide support in planning and executing company events (e.g. Townhall Meetings) or team-building activities
  • HR Projects: Supporting HR professionals with special initiatives like wellness initiatives or training program development
  • Learning & Development: Assist in researching best practices, external benchmarks, trends in learning, and organizational development, including AI and digital literacy
  • Administrative Assistance: Support meeting preparations, event logistics, and general administrative & clerical duties as assigned 


Basic Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate or recent graduate in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field
  • Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, excellent writing skills, and a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Discretion: While you won't handle sensitive payroll data, you must maintain professional boundaries regarding internal company discussions
  • Creativity: A knack for social media and visual communication is a huge plus
  • Technical Skills: Strong Research Skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred Language Skills: Bilingual in English/Korean preferred
  • At least 18 years of age by June 21, 2026
  • Capable of commuting to our Los Angeles office from Monday to Thursday (*Remote work options are not available)
  • Authorized to work in the United States 


The anticipated hourly wage range for interns who will work in Los Angeles is $23 per hour to $25 per hour. The final hourly rate offered to a successful candidate will be subject to several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of the candidate’s experience within the job; type and length of experience within the specific industry; educational background; and the location of internship. This hourly wage range may not reflect the pay scale for interns who work in other states.
