Not RequiredNAF’s Future Ready Lab powered by Pratt & Whitney is a unique paid internship opportunity designed for students at NAF Academies in the Greater Hartford, CT area. Interns will take part in skill-building workshops, gain hands-on experience in a professional setting, and collaborate with team members and mentors to complete a business project.
This paid internship experience will take place over the course of eight weeks starting in June 2026.
NAF FRL Intern projects will center around Technology and Innovation, where interns will work hands-on with teams that are critical to Pratt & Whitney’s growth through innovation, technology development, and continuous improvement. Interns will be able to incorporate new expertise into their projects from what they learn in workshops and other professional development events.
The final week of the internship will be spent preparing a professional presentation sharing key insights and skills developed during their experience, which interns will deliver to a panel of company executives and industry leaders. Potential project areas include:
- Supply Chain and Materials Planning
- Repair and Aftermarket Engineering
- Engine Testing Systems and Controls
- Project Management and Planning
- Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled at
- East Hartford AOE
- Hartford Public High School (HPHS)
- Pathways Academy of Technology & Design
- New Britain MET
- Rising seniors (summer between 11th & 12th grade)
- Interest in STEM
- Minimum of a 2.5 GPA
- Commitment to all dates and times of the internship
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- US citizenship required
What You Will Do
1) Gain a clear understanding of Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering's (ASE) repair process and its role within Pratt & Whitney Engineering.
2) Learn about the engineering disciplines involved in a typical repair.
3) Evaluate our performance metrics, brainstorm and suggest improvement opportunities.
4) Deliver an end-of-summer presentation to ASE Leadership summarizing key learnings and contributions.
What You Will Learn
1) Learn Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering's (ASE) repair process and the engineering disciplines involved.
2) Learn how ASE fits within Engineering and Pratt and Whitney as a whole.
3) Learn working in an engineering office environment.
4) Utilize Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint as needed during the internship.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
