About the Role

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Data Scientist Intern to join our Customer Experience & Sales Operations team in Carlisle, PA. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact, data-driven initiatives that directly influence customer outcomes, sales performance, and operational efficiency.

The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience applying advanced analytics, automation, and emerging AI tools to real-world business challenges in a dynamic B2B environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about transforming data into actionable insights and driving continuous improvement across business functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit, cleanse, and enhance the quality, structure, and usability of customer, sales, and service datasets across multiple platforms
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Service, Customer Experience, and Supply Chain to gather, define, and refine data requirements
  • Apply AI-assisted techniques to identify data inconsistencies, enrich datasets, and improve data preparation efficiency
  • Develop and maintain scripts or lightweight code (e.g., Python, SQL) to automate data extraction, transformation, and validation processes
  • Design and implement web scraping or digital data collection processes to capture competitive intelligence and market insights from public sources
  • Convert unstructured and semi-structured data (e.g., emails, PDFs, web content) into structured, analysis-ready datasets
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Excel, and SQL to support business decision-making
  • Document data workflows, analytical methodologies, and dashboard logic to ensure scalability and knowledge sharing
  • Educate and support business stakeholders on data standards, tools, and best practices
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data architecture, processes, and information flow

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a strong data-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Power BI, and SharePoint; familiarity with Tableau, Python, SQL, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Interest in leveraging AI tools and automation techniques to solve business data challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
