Trident’s Integrated C4ISR Systems (ICS) specializes in products and services that improve the safety and survivability of our armed forces. Position Summary
The Software Engineering Intern will be part of a team that supports an aerial surveillance system for a Department of Defense customer. The candidate will support software development for an integrated application that includes external system sensors, captured video, and static imagery. Software development will use Java and integrate the application software with external hardware devices.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position will report to the Associate Manager, Software Engineering and will coordinate closely with the QA, Software Development, and Systems Engineering teams.
- Support development of signal processing and software solutions for defense-related systems.
- Participate in team meetings (e.g., daily scrums) to provide updates and learn about project progress and challenges.
- Assist in analyzing, developing, testing, and documenting Java-based application code for existing and new capabilities.
- Help troubleshoot system issues, perform basic debugging, and support implementation of bug fixes and enhancements.
- Contribute to documentation efforts for software components and integrated system capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineers and team members to support system integration and testing activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of software development efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Java experience
- Must be geographically located within a commutable distance to the Trident location
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate results effectively.
- Experience with GIT and Jira is preferred
