ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We are looking for a strong Product Manager intern to join our team. As a Product manager - Technical Intern, you will help shape Bright Machines' vision on bringing our differentiating technology to robotics assembly. We are looking for someone who can assist product leaders in the company and work with our systems, robotics, application and other software engineering teams, look around corners for new technologies and shape our software to be deeply integrated with our automation hardware. If you have worked on building OT/IT technologies used in manufacturing, specifically in the compute/GPU server industries - we would love to talk to you! This is a cross-functional role, and the Product Manager Intern is expected to work closely with different teams including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Delivery, Supply Chain and Field Services. It is a unique opportunity to join one of the hottest AI/Machine Learning and Robotics startups and build from the ground up, a product that can transform one of the largest sectors in the economy.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Help the Product team with different parts of the Bright Machines automation software stack

  • Provide Market Research support on various topics that are top of mind for the Product team

  • Help define the product roadmap and assist with discussions with both internal and external stakeholders, partners and customers

  • Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of quality products on time and according to specifications

  • Evaluate new applications, use cases, proofs-of-concept and prioritize product roadmap in a data-driven manner


WHAT WE WANT TO SEE
  • At least 2 years of Embedded systems, Robotics and/or Mechatronics product development experience ideally in a manufacturing setting - any computer science/ embedded controls and electronics experience can be considered in lieu

  • Some experience in hardware and software product lifecycles, specifically computer server design processes and NTI/NPI processes

  • At least some relevant experience in industrial software product management

  • Ability to understand complex hardware systems and industrial robotics

  • Working in a matrix environment: collaboration with R&D, systems engineering and field support

  • Have a system view and be customer-centric

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical, Computer Science or Mechatronics Engineering degree


IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD
  • Master of Business (MBA) in Product Management highly desired (In progress)

  • Working Experience in developing electro-mechanical systems & products

  • Working Experience in the enterprise and datacenter server industries

  • Strong Experience in building manufacturing automation solutions

  • Working level understanding in Robotics

  • Understanding of factory KPIs and practical experience driving their improvement

  • Understanding of manufacturing logistics
