Our teams at our Global Innovation Center in the Philadelphia Navy Yard have multiple opportunities across several Research and Development teams and projects to provide a unique, meaningful experience to top co-op candidates, combining the intimacy of a smaller team setting with the innovation and opportunities of a mid-size global company.

During your co-op assignment, you will:

• Work directly with Axalta Scientists on a well-defined project to develop new products, improve manufacturing processes, or solve customer issues

• Be expected to perform your own work which may be focused on polymer synthesis, paint formulations, or advanced analytical chemistry instrumentation.

• Have frequent opportunities for direct interaction with our global internal manufacturing and marketing groups, as well as our external automotive customers

• Prepare and present a report summarizing your project work at the end of your co-op experience

Qualifications:

• Candidates must be working toward an undergraduate or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field at Drexel University;

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future;

• Candidates must show demonstrated ability to learn on the job;

• Candidates must be an effective problem solver with strong analytical skills;

• Candidates must be results oriented and a self-starter;

• Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• Candidates must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint;

• Candidates must have the ability to work in a team environment

• Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.2.
