About the Role

LOCATION & DURATION 

All internships will be based in our South San Francisco, CA and will be in-person minimum 4 days a week in the office. This internship starts in late June 2026 for approximately 10-12 weeks. This is a temporary role working up to 40 hours per week and the hourly rate is $35/hour.  

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

We are seeking a motivated student and talented full-time student with an interest in biostatistics and data analysis to join our team as a Biostatistics Summer Intern. This intern will learn about the biostatistician roles and responsibilities as well as daily work in drug development. The intern will work on project to implement different imputation rules to handle missing data and develop an R-Shiny tool if possible. In addition, they will help with data automation process by creating SAS macros or R packages.


Our interns will assist with the daily operations in each of their specific departments assigned to and gain exposure, including but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Apply different imputation approaches for missing data handling using simulated data and summarize the analysis results
  • Create an R-shiny tool based on the analyses performed for multiple imputation
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and generate summary statistics as needed
  • Create SAS macros or R packages to help dataset automation process
  • Create SAS macros or R packages to help automated generation of data review listings

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Currently pursing degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics or Data Science
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in SAS or R is a plus
  • A full-time student in an accredited program with plans to return to school in the fall
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2026.


Final Presentation

  • Each Intern is expected to prepare a short presentation to share what they have learned through their internship and how they hope their new knowledge will help them secure their future career. Presentations may be approximately 10-15 minutes long and should include visual aid (posters or PowerPoint).

The target hourly rate for this intern role is $35.00 an hour. Structure Therapeutics determines salary ranges based on level and scope of responsibilities, as well as location. Individual pay is further determined by additional factors, including relevant experience, specific job skills, education and training. Students will be on their own for housing, benefits, transportation, etc., and need to provide adequate work authorization to work for any US employer through the duration of the program
