ROLE OVERVIEW

The SCADA Delivery Operations team is seeking a summer intern to support a critical initiative: helping stand up and mature the operational backbone of Power Factors’ SCADA delivery function. This is a hands-on, high-impact role — the intern will work directly with the SDO Director and cross-functional leads to improve how we plan, track, and deliver SCADA projects at scale.

The focus areas span process documentation, portfolio reporting, tooling optimisation, and continuous improvement. The intern will gain direct exposure to delivery operations in a growing renewable-energy technology company and contribute work that shapes how the department operates going forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the documentation and standardisation of SCADA delivery workflows, including project intake, milestone tracking, and post-commissioning handoff procedures.

• Assist in building and refining portfolio-level dashboards and reports using data from Jira, Confluence, and Salesforce CloudCoach to surface delivery health, resource utilisation, and project risk.

• Help develop and maintain the SDO knowledge base in Confluence — organising templates, runbooks, and process guides so the team can operate consistently across regions.

• Conduct analysis on project data to identify bottlenecks, cycle-time trends, and improvement opportunities across the active SCADA project portfolio.

• Support tooling ownership initiatives by auditing current Jira workflows, board configurations, and automation rules for consistency and efficiency.

• AI tooling optimization

Deliverables

• Updated and standardised SCADA delivery process documentation (intake through post-commissioning) published in Confluence

• Portfolio insights dashboard or report template showing delivery KPIs, project health, and resource allocation across the active portfolio

• Jira workflow and tooling audit with recommendations for configuration improvements and automation opportunities

• Research brief on delivery operations maturity frameworks and best practices applicable to the SDO roadmap

• Best AI practices and efficiency deliverables

• Final internship presentation summarising findings, completed work, and practical recommendations for the SDO leadership team

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering, business, information systems, operations management, or related academic programme.

• Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with project data, spreadsheets, and dashboards to identify patterns and draw conclusions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesise complex operational information into clear documentation and presentations.

• Curious and self-directed; comfortable navigating ambiguity and learning new tools independently.

• Interest in delivery operations, project management, renewable energy, or process improvement.

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools is a plus but not required
