The Business Operations Intern supports the Business Office with day-to-day administrative, accounting, and operational tasks. This role is ideal for students pursuing accounting, finance, or business administration who want hands-on experience in a professional K–12 business environment.

The successful candidate is organized, eager to learn, able to follow procedures, and comfortable working with deadlines and shifting priorities. Professionalism, confidentiality, and a customer-service mindset are essential.

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Completion of at least one accounting or business course preferred.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

  • Experience in an office, school business office, or accounting environment is a plus.

Technical Requirements:

  • Basic proficiency with business software (e.g., Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe PDF).

  • Comfortable using computers, scanners, printers, and other office equipment.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based tools (e.g., Office 365, online storage).

  • Introductory understanding of accounting concepts and terminology.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass employment verification and background check.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Works well with others, including staff, vendors, and clients.

  • Maintains a professional and positive demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Recordkeeping & Documentation:

  • Scan and upload documents to cloud storage

HR & Payroll Support:

  • Assist with collecting and entering timecards and employee leave.

  • Support payroll processing tasks as assigned.

Purchasing & Accounts Payable Support:

  • Help process purchase requisitions and order receipts.

  • Assist with entering invoices and preparing AP documentation.

Accounting & Operations Support:

  • Enter cash receipts.

  • Assist with financial audit preparation and year-end transition activities as needed.

General Support:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Business Manager and accounting staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
