About the Role

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

START DATE (flexible): May 18th - July 31st


The Summer Marketing Intern will play an active role in supporting The Classic Center and Akins Ford Arena’s marketing and communications initiatives. Working alongside a dynamic team of marketing professionals, the intern will assist with special projects that contribute to event promotion, brand visibility, community engagement, and public relations. This individual will take ownership of creative marketing concepts, assist with off-site activation events, and support daily operations across advertising, branding, communications, and social media functions. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced entertainment and event marketing environment.

 

TYPICAL WORK ROUTINE INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Develop and present creative marketing ideas to support campaigns, events, or brand initiatives.

Represent The Classic Center and Akins Ford Arena at off-site events, promotional activities, and community outreach opportunities.

Help coordinate logistics for marketing booths or activations and engage directly with the public to raise brand awareness.

Assist the Communications Manager with media outreach efforts, including assembling media passes and drafting press releases.

Assist Brand Manager with marketing installs for conference clients.

Assist Advertising Manager and Advertising Coordinator with fan activations that support entertainment events.

Attend and participate in regular marketing team meetings and brainstorming sessions.

Provide general support to all marketing staff on an as-needed basis.

Participate in team meetings to plan content calendars and marketing strategies. Coordinate poster distribution around the Athens area and surrounding communities.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently enrolled in a college or university. A concentration in marketing, communications, or journalism is preferred.

Must be able to receive college credit for this internship

Energetic and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.

Ability to think creatively and work both independently and collaboratively.

Willingness to work flexible hours for events and activations.
