Stockroom Intern

About the Role:

The Stockroom Intern supports daily warehouse and inventory operations. Responsibilities may include organizing and maintaining stock, receiving and unpacking shipments, labeling and storing items, and assisting with inventory management. The intern will work closely with the stockroom team to ensure that all products are accurately accounted for and properly maintained. Through this role, the intern will gain valuable insight into supply chain processes and develop practical skills in inventory control and workplace safety. This role requires attention to detail, basic organizational skills, and the ability to lift and move materials as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a high school or college program.
• Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
• Ability to lift and move moderate weights safely (up to 50 lbs).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of workplace safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with receiving and unpacking incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders.
• Organize and maintain stockroom inventory to ensure items are stored safely and accessibly.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies to the stockroom supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the stockroom environment.
• Support the stockroom team with daily operational tasks and special projects.

Skills:

The Stockroom Intern will utilize organizational skills daily to maintain an orderly and efficient stockroom, ensuring that inventory is easy to locate and track. Attention to detail is critical when verifying shipments and conducting inventory counts to prevent errors and discrepancies. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members and reporting issues promptly. Physical stamina and safe handling techniques are applied regularly when moving and organizing stock items. Additionally, familiarity with inventory software enhances the intern's ability to accurately document stock levels and support data-driven decision-making.
