About the Role

Are you interested in a six-month Internship in a dynamic international environment that promotes freedom and security? Headquarters Allied Air Command (AIRCOM) located in Ramstein, Germany is looking for an intelligent, motivated Bachelor or Master student or recent graduate to intern in the Public Affairs Office of the Strategic Communications Division.

 

AIRCOM is responsible for delivering Air and Space Power for NATO. Strategic Communications and Public Affairs are essential in showing and telling this story to key audiences across the Alliance. The AIRCOM Digital Media Intern will support the planning, production and distribution of digital content across multiple platforms. This assignment involves maintaining social media channels, assisting with multimedia production, and helping monitor audience engagement and analytics.

 

The Digital Media Intern will engage in:

  • Drafting social media content, alongside narratives, media messages and statements for internal and external audiences.

  • Assessment of social media trends in public media.

  • Development of content including fact sheets and infographics.

  • Supporting community relations events, press conferences and media activities.

  • Liaising with other HQs for Public Affairs matters if requested and maintain routine engagements with Allied and Partner nation Public Affairs Offices.

     

 

Eligibility requirements:

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of a NATO member nation.

  • Language: Advanced English language skills.

  • Education: Open to current students who have successfully completed at least two years of their bachelor's or master's degree, or recent graduates (degree obtained within the last 18 months) in the fields of broadcast journalism, public affairs, media and communication studies, digital media or digital marketing.

  • Skills and Experience: Must have familiarity with major social media platforms and digital publishing workflows. Must understand social media analytics and reporting tools. Adaptability in a digital news or communication environment. Collaboration in teamwork.

 

Additional Information:

The AIRCOM Internship duration is six months. AIRCOM Interns will receive a monthly lump sum of €1,452 Euro (as of 2026 pay scale). The intern is responsible to declare this income to the relevant tax authorities, as appropriate. Interns may receive emoluments from outside sources such as scholarships or grants during their internship. Arrangements for travel and accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern. Interns are required to have their own social insurance coverage, including healthcare, on joining AIRCOM. 

 

Participation in an internship is subject to receipt of NATO security clearance from the intern’s national authorities. Interns may join AIRCOM only after AIRCOM has obtained the necessary clearance, which can take, on average, six months or longer.
