About the Role

Are you interested in a six-month Internship in a dynamic international environment that promotes freedom and security? Headquarters Allied Air Command (AIRCOM) located in Ramstein, Germany is looking for a sharp, motivated Bachelor or Master student or recent graduate to intern in the Information Knowledge Management (IKM) Section of the Management Directorate.

The Information Knowledge Management Intern will have an opportunity to engage across multiple IKM work areas, contributing to the digital transformation of business processes within AIRCOM, and will obtain an understanding of the relevance of Information Knowledge Management within a large Multinational Headquarter.

The IKM Intern will engage in:

  • Analysis and digitalisation of administrative and operational processes by collaborating with stakeholders to map current (“as-is”) workflows and identify opportunities for optimisation.

  • The design and implementation of digital workflows using NATO-approved tools (e.g. LINQI and other low-code platforms).

  • Digital solution adoption and process refinement through gathering of user requirements, validating proposed solutions, providing basic user guidance and collection of feedback.

  • Providing general support to the IKM team, including exposure to knowledge management practices, SharePoint-based collaboration, and day-to-day operational activities.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of a NATO member nation.

  • Language: Advanced English language skills.

  • Education: Open to current students who have successfully completed at least two years of their bachelor's or master's degree, or recent graduates (degree obtained within the last 18 months) in the fields of Information Management, Information Systems, Business Analysis or a related discipline.

  • Skills and Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. Excel, SharePoint, Teams). Demonstrated ability to understand, map, and improve processes and to work with structured information and workflows. Experience with process mapping tools or methodologies (e.g. BPMN, flowcharts, Visio, Lucidchart) is desired. Previous exposure to low-code/no-code platforms (e.g. Power Automate, LINQI, or similar tools) and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI) are an asset.

Additional Information:

The AIRCOM Internship duration is six months. AIRCOM Interns will receive a monthly lump sum of €1,452 Euro (as of 2026 pay scale). The intern is responsible to declare this income to the relevant tax authorities, as appropriate. Arrangements for travel, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern. Interns are required to have their own social insurance coverage, including healthcare, on joining AIRCOM.
