About the Role

Description

  The Membership Assistant Summer Intern will provide administrative and customer service support to the Membership team, assisting with day-to-day operations that sustain and strengthen member engagement. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual interested in nonprofit operations, fundraising, or arts and cultural organizations. The intern will gain hands-on experience in membership services, donor communications, and nonprofit administration.

  • Assist the Membership team with phone calls, emails, and written correspondence to current and prospective members 
  • Support membership mailings, including preparation, assembly, and tracking of materials
  •  Provide administrative support related to membership renewals, updates, and records 
  • Help maintain accurate member data and assist with basic database clean-up or updates under staff supervision 
  • Respond to routine member inquiries or route questions appropriately 
  • Support general office and administrative tasks for the Membership team as needed 
  • Assist with special projects or seasonal initiatives related to membership and advancement activities

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Professional and friendly phone manner  Highly organized with strong attention to detail 
  • · Ability to handle confidential information with discretion 
  • Proficiency with basic office technology (email, spreadsheets, document preparation) 
  • Interest in nonprofit organizations, fundraising, membership programs, or customer service
