Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman – Military Internship Program (SKillbridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals – Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
Outcome – Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.
SkillBridge Eligibility:
· Has served at least 180 days on active duty
· Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
· Will receive an honorable discharge
· Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
· Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
· Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Skillbridge Position - Logistics Project Manager 3/4. This position will be located at Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.
What you'll get to do:
LPMs develop collaborative, cross-IPT technical relationships and networks leveraging mission experience and knowledge to guide design, content, and function of the S&T products/services through credibility and availability for all internal and external stakeholders. LPMs are empowered to impact and influence Sentinel WS design and trusted by senior Sentinel leadership to integrate across all Sentinel IPTs and bring the voice of the Customer through design phases – reducing TLCC, preserving schedule commitments, and influencing WS design for long-term operability and sustainability.
LPMs are authorized to support, identify, bound, and consult on logistics, support systems, maintainability, non-conformance, risks, issues, and opportunities. LPMs have advanced knowledge and leverage experience enabling execution of all EMD, MPEs, IFCs, and program reviews - from Pathfinder to WS IOC and transition to O&S. LPMs are leveraged by engineering and leadership functions for their insight and experience achieved through external integration across the Sentinel enterprise. Their expertise and resource network facilitate and support development activities through technical interchange and formal/informal project communications between engineering, product design teams, Systems Engineering, and Product Services, such as Quality, PHS&T, Production, and Specialty Engineering functional teams.
• Occasional travel (up to 10% of the time).
• Must have excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited direction within the scope of an assignment and use independent judgment in determining methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 3
• 5 Years experience with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Level 4
• 8 Years experience with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Year with PhD; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need
• 3 Yrs. experience with a sustainment or development program.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of Product Support processes.
• Experience with Sentinel program.
• Experience with ICBM programs.
• Program management or operations experience
• LVL 3: 5+ Years of ICBM Experience in 2M0X1 (EMT) or 2M0X2 (MMT/MHT) or 2M0X3 (FMT) USAF career fields for Principal
• LVL 4: 10+ Years of ICBM Experience in 2M0X1 (EMT) or 2M0X2 (MMT/MHT) or 2M0X3 (FMT) USAF career fields for Sr. Principal
Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
