Internship:

We currently have a great opportunity to join Talman Consultants as an Intern. You will perform a variety of task to gain experience in civil engineering. Primary responsibilities include using AutoCAD, working with internal stakeholders on designs, and getting the opportunity to go into the field to experience some of the jobsites directly related to the in-office design work.


Tasks:

  • Assist in preparing engineering related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids
  • Review contractor submittals for adherence to technical specifications on construction projects
  • Compare investigation findings to relevant studies and regulations to assess compliance, draft reports documenting results, and present findings.
  • Work closely with management to develop an integral team that effectively represents the quality and professionalism of the company.
  • Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories to assist in interpreting and analyzing data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience Required:

Education in drafting, STEM, and/or other technical subjects. Engineering or science preferred background.

  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and perform specific tasks without direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, Google Earth, and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license.

The expected hourly pay for this position is $18. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
