About the Role
Responsibilities

The Summer Associate will provide support for Related Affordable Community Engagement projects including program development, relationship management, resident service delivery, and social impact.

  • Design and develop resident service plan template, including but not limited to, demographic data, desired resident outcomes based on social detriments of health, local emergency resources, property-specific information, and social service providers.
  • Identify pertinent key performance indicators and craft performance report template for Related Affordable Management Resident Service Coordinators.
  • Stay abreast of and educate team about latest research, measurement tools and best practices addressing social isolation, intergenerational programming, financial resiliency and resident services.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and resident service providers to collect resident success stories and create testimonials.
  • Conduct site visits at Related Affordable properties and engage with resident service providers.
  • Review monthly performance reports from resident service providers, evaluate programmatic efforts and provide assessments and recommendations to internal resident services employees.
  • Collaborate with Acquisition, Construction, Asset and Portfolio Management, Property Operations and Related Affordable Foundation teams.

Compensation: 

Expected annual base salary: $45 / hour


Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will be a first-year graduate student with the following skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or equivalent field.
  • Two (2)+ years of relevant experience in affordable housing, impact investing, nonprofit or social services.
  • Demonstrates accountability and reliability by taking full ownership of projects and outcomes, prioritizing precision and attention to detail, and approaching challenges with grit, resilience, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Polished professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong passion for community-based organizations, delivery of quality resident services and preservation of affordable housing.

Our formal 10-week internship programs provide students with the opportunity to work on critical projects integral to our team's success.
