Job Information

The Shipping and Receiving Intern is responsible for coordinating activities in the Shipping/Receiving area. Also responsible for incoming and outgoing products and goods.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Routing material to the proper people and departments
  • Use Microsoft Office, Excel, and additional software to track and communicate internally, to suppliers, and to vendors
  • Create and run reports, as required
  • This position requires self-driven individuals with strong customer service skills. This person must be reliable, attentive to detail and a good team player


Qualifications:

  • Material resource planning and/or production control experience with Systems Applications Processes (SAP)
  • Experience in processes of warehouse operations and distribution programs
  • HS Diploma or GED required. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility
  • Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices or instruction
  • Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor

  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions
  • Occasionally loud noise (examples: shop tool noises, electric motors, moving mechanical equipment)
