About the Role

Engineering Intern (Temporary)
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: 35–40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, between 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Assignment Type: Temporary

The Engineering Department is seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Intern to assist with document management, file organization, and engineering records digitization projects. This position will support the department by organizing paper and electronic engineering files, scanning documents, and maintaining accurate records within the company’s document management system, including Autodesk Vault.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and organize engineering paper files and drawings according to established procedures. 
  • Identify and separate documents that should be retained, scanned, or archived. 
  • Scan and electronically save approved documents into designated folders and Autodesk Vault. 
  • Verify whether documents already exist in electronic format before scanning. 
  • Maintain engineering files in accurate numerical and alphabetical order. 
  • Apply project numbers to file folders and replace missing or damaged file labels as needed. 
  • Label, catalog, and track files that have been scanned or transferred to electronic storage. 
  • Dispose of outdated documents in accordance with department procedures. 
  • Assist with additional clerical and administrative tasks within the Engineering Department as assigned. 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions accurately. 
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to work with electronic filing systems. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Comfortable handling older and potentially dusty files and documents. 
  • Ability to bend, stretch, lift, and retrieve files or large drawing sets from shelves and drawers. 
  • Ability to carry files and drawings to designated workstations, including use of stairs. 
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work the required schedule. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in engineering, document management, or administrative support functions. 
  • Prior clerical, scanning, or filing experience preferred. 
  • Experience with Autodesk Vault or electronic document management systems is a plus but not required.
