Job Description

We are looking to have an enthusiastic and driven HR Intern to assist our HR Department with administrative and HR-related tasks. The HR Intern’s responsibilities include updating employee HRIS (Paylocity) records, supporting payroll processes, scanning and filing HR documents, drafting employee communications, and creating assigned staff alerts for designated communications.


Additionally, this role will support the end-to-end recruitment process, including reviewing resumes, conducting candidate prescreens, coordinating interviews, and assisting with job postings and candidate sourcing. The HR Intern will help maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system, prepare and send offer and rejection communications, and assist with new hire orientation coordination and presentation updates.

  

The program is scheduled to run for ten weeks, from Monday, June 1, 2026, through Thursday, August 6, 2026, with flexibility to accommodate students’ needs. The proposed schedule is a 32-hour work week over four consistent workdays (Monday–Thursday). This internship offers a total salary of $5,500 for the full duration of the program.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review resumes, conduct candidate prescreens, provide feedback to hiring managers, and schedule interviews 
  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interview scheduling. 
  • Screening potential employees' resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies.
  • Coordinating new hire orientations, and update presentations. 
  • Preparing and sending offer and rejection letters or emails to candidates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system
  • Updating company HRIS databases by inputting new / modified employee information and employment details.
  • Support payroll 
  • Organizing interviews with job candidates.
  • Posting job advertisements to job boards. 
  • Removing job advertisements from job boards once vacancies have been filled.
  • Assist and participate in the planning & set up of company events.
  • Responding to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.

Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills

  • Studying toward a degree in Human Resource Management or related business management field.
  • Proven experience working in an office environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to work as contributing part of the HR Team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) is a huge advantage.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

· Work is performed primarily in an office environment with moderate noise level. The employee in this class is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. 

· Position requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks:

· Constantly requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours and ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

· Constantly requires clarity of speech and hearing, which permits the employee to communicate effectively.

· Constantly requires clear vision to read printed materials and computer screen to accomplish work. 

· Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
