About the Role

Ninyo and Moore, a SOCOTEC Company has an immediate opening for a Staff or Senior Staff Engineer or Geologist to be trained as an Assistant Construction Services Project Manager (unofficial title) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The successful candidate will support project managers managing construction and material testing projects. The successful candidate will also help coordinate all field activities, including field technicians and inspectors for projects, visit the project sites at the direction of the Project Manager. Other tasks may include:

  • Acquiring permits, review background data, site photos and aerial photographs.
  • The logging and sampling, performance of site reconnaissance and geological mapping and performance of any testing needed, and communication of the findings to the Project Manager.
  • Preparation of field data, boring logs, test pits, and cross sections.
  • Assisting the Project Manager with the accumulation and compilation of data.
  • Performing various assigned tasks such as coordinating and scheduling subcontractors, performing basic calculations, preparing field studies, and report writing under the direction of the Project Manager.

Education: Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field preferred. Could also be an internship for a local student in one of those majors.

Required Skills: The successful candidate will have 0-5 years of experience with construction materials testing and/or inspection (willing to train the right engineer or geologist looking to work in construction materials testing project management). Candidate should be detail oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
