About the Role

Job Description:

AMA is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Systems Analysis Intern to join our team in Moffett Field, CA supporting NASA on the Aircraft Systems and Spaceflight Engineering Support Services (ASSESS) contract at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC). Work will be in support of the Systems Analysis Office at NASA ARC. Level of effort can be variable during the school year based on course schedule, but may ramp up to full-time during the summer.

About the Projects:

NASA ARC is seeking support for coupling the OpenVSP parametric mid lift-to-drag (mid L/D) component with the NASA Ames CBAERO hypersonics analysis software tool.

Pay for this position is $29.50/hr -$33.50/hr, depending on education.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the Cobra C++ OpenVSP custom component in a gradient optimization problem using CBAERO-adjoint solver within the NASA Ames Opensource Condor Optimization software.

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience with and knowledge of OpenVSP, Condor, or CBAERO is highly preferred.

  • Experience with C++ and Python highly preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree (B.S, M.S or PhD) in Mechanical, Aerospace, or General Engineering degree; or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in python programing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position requires U.S. Citizenship.
