About the Role
Deadline to apply for KQED Internships is Friday, May 22, 2026. Please state which internship(s) you are applying for in your cover letter and apply to each one individually.

This is a paid internship, working 16 hours per week from Monday, July 6, 2026 - Friday, December 18, 2026. Current Salary is $19.61 per hour.

Bay Curious is an audience-driven, explainer show that answers listener questions about the San Francisco Bay Area. Each week, we drop an episode that takes listeners on a journey through a fascinating aspect of our region – from the foods we eat, to the places where we recreate, to the people who make up the Bay Area community. We aim for each episode to be sound rich, deeply reported, approachable and, when appropriate, fun! We celebrate a range of experiences on our show, and encourage interns from all backgrounds to apply. Our ideal intern is passionate about narrative audio storytelling, and has some experience creating sound-rich audio features. This is an advanced internship.

KQED envisions a public media organization with a culture that centers on human dignity, equity, and belonging. This will enable us to better serve and reflect the Bay Area through diverse and inclusive storytelling.

We value the contributions of marginalized people in society — including Black, Indigenous, and all people of color,  people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ people — and we believe that these communities must be centered in the work we do, and we strongly encourage members of these communities to apply.
