Humana is seeking a driven and curious intern to join the Enterprise Procurement & Supplier Management Team within our Finance organization. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is eager to apply their academic and professional knowledge of procurement and supply chain management in a meaningful, fast-paced environment while gaining hands-on experience by participating in transformation initiatives.

In this role, the intern will contribute to key strategic procurement initiatives, support process improvements, and help simplify the way work gets done across the team. This internship offers the chance to work on technology implementations that transform the procurement experience, collaborate with professionals across the organization, and participate in sourcing initiatives 

This is an in-person internship in Louisville, KY, New York City, NY or Arlington, VA and will require in-office work 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support strategic procurement initiatives including implementation of ai-enabled procurement platforms for intake & orchestration, contract management optimization and sourcing. 

  • Support the implementation of the framework and governance of enterprise supplier management. 

  • Support procurement process improvement initiatives, including optimization of third-party risk management processes. 

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to analyze process improvements and performance metrics, provide actional insights to internal and stakeholder leadership, and identify further improvement opportunities. 

  • Participate in sourcing initiatives to gain hands-on experience 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday for 12 weeks from May 18 – August 7, 2026.   

  • Must be located or willing to relocate to Louisville, KY, New York City, NY or Arlington, VA or environs within commutable distance, and able to go into the office 2-3 days per week 

  • Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.   

  • Must be a current full-time student pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance or a related field with an expected graduation date of either December 2026 or Summer 2027. 

  • Minimum of three years of professional work experience prior to beginning graduate school 

  • Ability to manage and interpret procurement data using business systems 

  • Must possess strong intrapersonal, written, and oral communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience or coursework in Industrial Engineering, Procurement or Supply Chain Management 

  • Familiarity with procurement or supply chain management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) 

  • Demonstrated interest in process improvement and operational excellence 

  • Exposure to project management methodologies or tools 

  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams 

  • Possess an interest in working in the healthcare industry

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$37,440 - $96,800 per year
