About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and analytically-driven Summer Intern to support research and strategy development within the evolving carbon markets space. This role offers hands-on exposure to voluntary and compliance carbon markets, along with opportunities to contribute to business development and marketing initiatives. This role will have dual reporting. For Research- and strategy-focused responsibilities, this role will report directly to the Management Team.  For Marketing- and communications-related responsibilities, it will report to the Director of Marketing.

 



POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Conduct research on voluntary and compliance carbon markets across North America and Europe, including:
    • Market size and growth trends
    • Pricing dynamics
    • Customer segments and demand drivers
    • Policy and regulatory developments
    • Emerging standards and product fungibility
  • Monitor and summarize regulatory and policy updates impacting global carbon markets
  • Analyze carbon offset project types (e.g., reforestation, renewable energy, methane capture) to assess:
    • Quality and credibility
    • Additionality, permanence, and verification standards
    • Identify and evaluate go-to-market opportunities, including potential expansion into sectors such as marine and aviation
  • Support supplier evaluation and due diligence processes
  • Prepare clear, concise reports, presentations, and internal briefs to support strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams on:
    • Campaign development
    • Prospect research and engagement
  • Customer acquisition initiatives (including potential SME outreach)

Candidate Profile

  • 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student, or graduate student
  • Preferred areas of study:
    • Environmental Science
    • Engineering
    • Business, Commerce, or Marketing

  • Lead and complete two major projects during the internship
  • Present findings and recommendations to the management team
  • Deliver research, analysis, and/or marketing outputs aligned with business priorities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives
