Fundraising Intern

JIAS Toronto is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping immigrants with resettlement in the Greater Toronto Area. JIAS Toronto assists lawfully admitted immigrants and refugees in meeting basic financial, social, legal, and other requirements of immigration. We work to advance the well-being and social integration of newcomers by providing a full range of outreach, support, counseling, training, and referral resources.  

 

JIAS Toronto is currently seeking a Fundraising Intern to work closely with the Community Engagement team, responsible for updating the organization’s database and social media. This full-time position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs and requires the incumbent to be between the ages of 18 to 30 years of age and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. This position will pay $21 per hour up to 280 hours.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with data entry, maintenance of our donor database, including clean-up and correcting errors
  • Help post on a variety of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Help prepare & send regular newsletters to keep clients informed about upcoming programs and opportunities
  • Identify new opportunities for social media content 
  • Help update the JIAS social media content calendar
  • Edit videos to be used for social media and general communications
  • Update audiences using Mailchimp
  • Track social media analytics
  • Help with planning for the organization’s Annual General Meeting
  • Other duties as assigned or required

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Between the ages of 18 to 30 years of age, as required by Canada Summer Jobs
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge in Mailchimp, WordPress, Canva, Salesforce is helpful
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be a team player
