About the Role

Principale fonction  

Under the authority of the Director of Legal Services and Clerk, the student will provide assistance to the Legal Services Department and the Clerk’s Office.

Working Conditions

  • Work schedule:  35 hours / week
  • Employment type: Full-time seasonal position ( fix term of 8 weeks)
  • Compensation: 24 $/hours

Main Responsibilities

  • Administrative management of claim files

  • Follow‑up on claims with insurance companies

  • Administrative management of the insurance portfolio

  • Support in drafting legal procedures and gathering evidence for litigation, claims, and recovery files

  • Attend monthly Council meetings and assist in preparing the Agenda, Minutes, and resolutions

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal analyses

  • Assist in drafting and implementing municipal policies and regulations

  • Perform any other related tasks

Qualifications and Education

  • Be a full‑time student in law or legal studies

  • Excellent time‑management and priority‑management skills

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and autonomy

  • Strong problem‑solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ease in communication

  • Knowledge of Microsoft software

  • Good knowledge of French and English, spoken and written
